Winning Strategies for Jacks or Better
Jacks or Better is one of those rare games where following the right strategy can significantly reduce the house edge. Keep these five key strategic tips in mind:
- Hold a Royal Flush draw: If four of your cards can form a Royal Flush, let go of even a made flush or straight.
- Keep Three of a Kind: If you have three matching cards, always hold them and swap the other two.
- Low pair vs. high card: Holding a pair — no matter how small — is more profitable than keeping a single high card (J, Q, K, A).
- Prioritise a four-card flush: If four cards share the same suit, swap the fifth to go for the flush.
- Never discard all five: If even one card is useful, keep it.
Practice these strategies in free mode at 4kbd to get comfortable, then play with real money.
